| "Complementary Colors" (Source: So This Is Love) by Valerie Hawkes- Howat Our creative natures strive To cancel each other out. To me your canvases Are more wall than window, Colors I can't see through. I seek the gossamer shapes Invisible to you Whose color visions bloom Like the blood that thickens On a cut finger. My world to you is a shard Of a broken dream, A shiver of a rainbow, A sliver of the moon. Where you are earth, I am a glass mirage That you can never lose Because you never held it. All you own of me Is a dream. Go paint for me a tomb In your somber colors While I am shimmering Forever overhead, Sunshine on the water. ---------------------------------------- Editor's rating: not yet rated. Daily you warm me With something Greater than myself Your voice changes my mind Your touch inflames desire When your face Moves close to mine Our old hearts reignite And burn like new. --------------------------------------- Editor's rating: not yet rated.
