| Can by Rewa Marie Fyles Source: Feeling Poetic, (2003) p.14 Can you be my king, Can you love me like I deserve to be loved. Can you come home to me Be faithful, honest, and love only me. Can you only know my insides. Know me inside and out, Love me unconditionally And only see me when you look at me, And when you look at them, still only see me. Can you be my knight in shining armor, Can you save this damsel in distress, Bring an end to my stress. Can you show me what I need to see out of life. In this world. Can we explore this earth, Then maybe explore each other And share our dreams and aspirations, Then put them together So we can be together, Work together, dream together. Can you stay and never leave me. Protect me, Wrap me in your arms; Hold me on sunny days and rainy nights Comfort me with your strength And be the man that God said you would be And be the man that I dreamed of Love me until I can't think straight Then grab my hand and lead me. Can you be this for me, all of these things; I feel you inside of me,yet you are not here. Can we be together, Can I come where you are, if you can't get to me. Can I be your princess, your queen, Can I be your everything, Can I be the one you call When you are in need of a touch Of love, Of comfort on a long day, Can I be the one that knows you inside and out, Can I know every part of you Can I know what makes you smile, What makes you cry I can try To be your everything, I want to try and succeed To be all of these things So tell me..... Can we? |

| August 9, 2005, Tuesday Hello Andrew, I like this poem ("Can") because it really speaks to the heart of those searching for their one true love. I would like it featured (in Muses Review) because it's one of my favorite poems, and it gives hope to those patiently waiting for their soul mate. I was inspired to write "Can" to ask the questions that were important to me in a relationship. --Rewa Marie Fyles |
