  9th Poem Contest:
Title of Poem:  Daffodils

Daffodils are in my heart and soul,
  Nowhere to my eye.
The blooms that are normal on the soil,
For me they reached the sky.

Not in thousands, not in lakhs,
Not in bundles, not in packs,
There was but only one of them,
  Hunching down in bridal shame.

  My avarice knew no bounds,
  I wanted the flower forever.
I wanted to relish it all by myself,
Would give it to no one ever.

  I climbed to the sky,
  And plucked it out.
  I carried it home and
Saw it and smelled a bout.

Today when it died, I returned for more,
But yesterday I had plucked the only one.
Today I find innumerable blooms of roses,
  Daffodils, there are none.
