| A Poem's Justice by Katie Davis-Steward Source: The Beginning of the Tumbling (2004) p.35 I always write because I revere it and am always attached to it. But then I found out I had to pump out more poems quick to meet a publishing requirement. Therefore; I also had to write on demand. All of a sudden, my writing h ad gone way beyond my office walls without even literally leaving yet. I began to write for an audience I didn't know. Wondering what they would think months down the road. I stopped writing for myself and definitely stopped writing for the poem itself. Those poems stopped at barely rough drafts and would not form when they realized they were ordered to. ----------------------------------- Copyright (c) by Katie Steward.
