Hideous
Unknowable,
unlovable,
what fair
creature
would ever
dare
to discover
the love
I possess
in my heart;
the sorrow
that grips
my soul,
the anguish,
that haunts
my dreams;
would dare
to look
past
the ugliness
to see
the saint
within;
the kindly lover;
the passionate poet;
the real beauty
of me.
III.
I believe
heaven
weeps for
those
who are deemed
unworthy of love
as
I stand
in the
shadows
and await
those tears
to
fall and
comfort
me.

That they

me
behind my back
Or
they don't care.
And it
doesn't matter
Really.
I am
A freak
without form
or
comeliness
that others
would
be attracted to;
An anomaly
of God's;
the subject
of
books written
by the likes of
Hugo and Shelley;
An abomination
in the eyes
of those
who would
deem themselves
beautiful.
