PROUD AMERICANS by GeorgeAnne Smith Source: A Voice In The Night (2005) Thanks, to the brave men and women who serve this country well. Our hats are off to all of you, we know you`ve been through hell. We`re all proud of the bravery shown, defending our precious rights. We pray that God will keep you safe, through struggles and the fights. The way our Forces join as one, doing combat on foreign soil, We hold our heads high, be proud, for it`s not just about the oil. You left your families for our sake, so freedom will always ring. In gratitude for a great sacrifice, your praises, we shall sing. --------------------------------------- Editor's Rating: 5 out of 5 laurels Reader's Rating: not yet rated. |
| Nature`s Gifts by GeorgeAnne Smith Source: A Voice In The Night (2005) A whisper upon unseen wind, as a breeze gently blows. The quiet stillness of grass in awakened earth, it grows. A gull on the wing, soaring over the waves of blue. Palm trees stand tall, swaying, dancing to the lovers woo. Sand dunes, white, deserts own, in a paradise complete. Rolling hills of greenery, grand, mocking the droughts deceit. Sunset draws to steal the show in hues, giving way to night. Evening sky, a ceiling spattered with stars, twinkling delight. Seek nature with eyes, now new, breathe and feel it living. Hold it, caring deeply within, tend this wonder, ever giving. -------------------------------------- Editor's Rating: 5 out of 5 laurels Reader's Rating: not yet rated. |
