AMBITION by ANNE SHIEVER Source: Inside My Heart Mind And Soul, (2005) p. I'm on an amazing mission With an extreme desire to attain my goal Now sit a spell and listen To a tale known as 'AMBITION' A passion with energy ever-flowing My destiny--it is unknowing It's surprising just how fast it's growing Head-strong!! That's my Ambition Dreams are made with wonder But I've no time to sit and ponder 'Cause I'd just be here a wishin' If I didn't have my Ambition Determination--It's a flowing And the stars--They are a glowing Drive On--Can't YOU hear it calling Non-stop! That's my Ambition Overwhelming when you make a transition Remarkable to reach a final decision Touching the world by renovation Within your heart, from your AMBITION! ----------------------------------------- Rosemary ANNE (Befort) SHIEVER Copyright December 1969 -------------------------------------------- Editor's Rating: (not yet rated) Reader's Rating: (not yet rated) --------------------------------------- The Clown by ANNE SHIEVER Source: Inside My Heart Mind And Soul, (2005) p. Remember the circus tent With the colorful clown They made you laugh When you wore a frown Shot from a canon High in the air You'll remember their face From that distant stare Hand painted with care To bring each girl & boy That remarkable gift Of laughter and joy Walking on stilts Or walking upside down You can never forget That face on a clown They saved the bull rider At the town rodeo Smiling as they shake the crowd's hands While they sway to and fro A balloon made into a giraffe Was a children's delight A magic trick, comedy scene, or juggling act Was more than alright! Tossing out candy and gum At a local parade You can't even imagine All the friends they have made Each one of them is unique Just like you and me Dressed in bright colors For everyone to see So when you try to be funny In your own special way Remember there's a clown inside of you, stowed secretly away To bring us everlasting love & joy Whenever sadness darkens the day! ------------------------------ Rosemary ANNE (Befort) SHIEVER Written July 27th 1970 (Note: This poem "The Clown" is nominated Best Poem of Year 2005 for the 2nd Muses Prize - Poetry) ------------------------------------------- Editor's Rating: 5 out of 5 laurels Reader's Rating: (not yet rated) |
